The Everyday Life of an Author-Entrepreneur
Laura Hult is a writer, mother, and publishing entrepreneur living in Copenhagen. She runs the small publishing house Dots and Comms as well as the author’s own online store. Before becoming an entrepreneur, she built a long career in communications and marketing. Originally from Kuopio, Finland, the author has lived in six different countries, from Europe to Asia.
Laura holds a Master of Social Sciences degree in International Relations. Topics important to women and girls, as well as environmental issues, are a central part of her work. She is also interested in themes related to political phenomena and the media landscape.
Laura’s debut novel, Suden mieli (“The Mind of the Wolf”), published in summer 2025, is a psychologically driven novel set in the communications industry. It explores balancing work and family life, equality in the workplace, and society’s expectations of women.
At the end of 2025, Laura wrote and illustrated the children’s book Lumin keppihevonen (“Lumi’s Hobby Horse”). The book aims to inspire the joy of reading, highlight the power of encouragement, and especially support younger hobby horse enthusiasts in pursuing the sport.
